One central login, and access that stopped being a bottleneck

The books lived in QuickBooks Desktop, so giving someone access, or answering a quick question about a transaction, meant working around a file that sat in one place.

We mapped and moved the company file into QuickBooks Online, checking the balances against the Desktop file before handover.

Everything now sits behind one central login. The team picked it up quickly and found the layout familiar, and sharing access or asking a question about a transaction is no longer the obstacle it was on Desktop.

Bills paid from one place, and Shopify posting itself

Moving off QuickBooks Desktop was the trigger. Paying bills and getting Shopify sales into the books were both hands-on jobs.

We migrated the company file to QuickBooks Online, set up Bill.com to handle bill payment by check and electronically, and connected Shopify so its activity posts on its own.

Bills are now paid from one place, by check or electronically, which cuts the exposure that comes with printing and mailing checks yourself. Shopify activity posts to the books daily without anyone keying it in.
